To make a calendar widget transparent, you need a widget that lets you change its transparency. Android does not add this to every widget. Most calendar apps either give you a transparency setting or they do not.

Set the transparency in Super Agenda

Super Agenda lets you set colors, text sizes, shapes, transparency, and corner radius for each part of the widget. The app shows a live preview that matches the widget on your home screen.

Add the widget. Touch and hold an empty space on your home screen, tap Widgets, find Super Agenda, and drag it into place. Steps can vary by phone and Android version.
Open the app. You can also tap the settings button in the widget toolbar.
Open the style options. These are the options that need Super Agenda Pro.
Lower the background opacity. Pick the background of the widget and raise the transparency until your wallpaper shows through. Do the same for the toolbar, the day headers, and the event rows if you want them clear too. Each part has its own settings.
Check the live preview. The preview shows the same events, size, and look as the widget on your home screen. Compare it with your wallpaper.
Adjust the text color. Clear backgrounds can make text hard to read. Change the text color and size until it reads well. See the table below.

Pick settings that match your wallpaper

Transparency works best when the text still stands out. Use this table as a starting point.

Dark and calm — What to try: Very clear background and light text.
Light and calm — What to try: Very clear background and dark text.
Busy, with many details — What to try: Partly clear background so the text has a base to sit on.
Changes often — What to try: A partly clear background and a bold text color that works on both.

Rounded corners matter when the background is only partly clear. Set the corner radius of each part until the shapes look right. Event color markers (a bar, a circle, or a small dot) add color without a solid background.

Use the day and night themes

Save the result

Limits to know

Style options need Super Agenda Pro. The time settings and the calendar choice are free.
Super Agenda does not take colors from your wallpaper. You choose the colors yourself.
It has no month grid view and does not show tasks.

Why is my text hard to read on a clear widget?

The wallpaper behind the text may be too bright or too busy. Change the text color or size, or keep a little background color behind the events.
