You have two ways to put Google Calendar on your Android home screen. Use the widget from the Google Calendar app, or use an agenda widget app that reads the calendars on your phone.
Google's own widget is the quickest. A widget app gives you more control over the look and the list. Both show your Google Calendar events.
Option 1: Use the Google Calendar widget
Google's Calendar Help gives these steps. They can vary by phone and Android version.
Install the app. Make sure Google Calendar is on your phone and that you signed in with your Google account.
Touch and hold an empty space. Press on a free spot of your home screen.
Tap Widgets, then Calendar. The widgets of the Calendar app appear.
Pick a view. Google offers a schedule widget, which shows upcoming events, and a month view widget, which shows one month at a time.
Drag it onto the home screen. Touch and hold the widget, move it to an empty spot, and let go.
To change the size, touch and hold the widget, lift your finger, and drag the dots on its sides.
Your calendar, on your home screen. Super Agenda is a free, very customizable agenda widget for Android. No account, no ads.

Option 2: Use an agenda widget app (Super Agenda)
Super Agenda is a home screen agenda widget for Android 8.0 and newer. It reads the calendars on your phone, so it shows your Google Calendar events. It does not have its own calendar sync and does not need an account.
Check that Calendar sync is on. Open Settings and look for Passwords, passkeys & accounts. On some phones the path is About phone, then Google Account. Pick your Google account, tap Account sync, and make sure Calendar is on.
Check your events in Google Calendar. Open the app and see that the events you expect are there. The widget can only show what the phone has.
Install Super Agenda. Get it from Google Play.
Add the widget. Touch and hold an empty space, tap Widgets, find Super Agenda, and drag it to the home screen.
Pick your calendars. Choose the Google calendars you want to see. The calendar choice is free.
Set the time range. Choose how many days ahead to show, whether to show past events, and the maximum number of events. These time settings are free.
Check the live preview. The app shows a preview that matches the widget on your home screen: same events, same size, same look.
The widget refreshes itself when the calendar changes and at midnight. Tap an event to open it in the calendar app.
Which option fits you?
A month grid on the home screen — Pick: Google Calendar widget (month view).
The simplest setup with no new app — Pick: Google Calendar widget.
A list of events with day headers and a timeline — Pick: Super Agenda.
Your own colors, text sizes, and transparency — Pick: Super Agenda (needs Pro).
Events from several calendars with a different style per widget — Pick: Super Agenda (per-widget style needs Pro).
Super Agenda has no month grid and does not show tasks. Style options need Super Agenda Pro, a one-time in-app purchase. There is no subscription. For a full side-by-side look, read Super Agenda vs the Google Calendar Widget.
